I do believe he wasn't in the race from the beginning and most likely due to the synthetic surface, but he shouldn't have lost that bad.</p> <p>My co-worker Jason is still thinking Big Brown has the raw talent to contend very strongly. I believe he is improving. A real good handicapper, my mother, likes Colonel John. She says the way he rated off the pace and his closing 1/8 of the mile makes him a strong Derby Contender. Her years of experience of watching horses from Cumberland, Maryland to Pimlco to expertly picking triple crown winners makes me very wary of Colonel John.</p> <img src="http://cs.bloodhorse.com/aggbug.aspx?PostID=1543" width="1" height="1">
