I hope this Polo story opens the doors for more inner city kids and others even in the countryside. There is just something about a horse for anyone, its great.

Whether you are riding, brushing, feeding or shoveling manure, its a wonderful thing. I hope others catch the feeling of horses.

What an amazing story. Horses open up so many things for children, look what it did for these young boys. Thanks for writting about it, what a great story to start up the day.

Thanks for bringing this inspiring story to Bloodhorse. The story is a testament to the deep power of the bond between humans and horses. Somebody said the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man, and I agree. The experience of knowing horses is truly empowering.

That's a great story about the polo team! I taught inner-city girl scouts how to ride horses and about caring for horses for several years. It was so much fun seeing the transformation from "scared to touch the horse" to actually wanting to pick up a pitchfork and help out after their rides. I wish more kids had the chance to interact with horses these days!

FYI the portrait of Blame is being raffled off, not auctioned (one ticket for $10 or three for $25). Better for those of us on budgets!
