This is a great post! Nice to see all those exciting races. I would also vote for the Santa Anita Derby with IHA, Creative Cause and Blueskiesandrainbows. If you include international, then Black Caviar's Royal Ascot win.

NO question, Union Rag's Belmont. Half way down the stretch I was whispering, GO Rag's, Get him Johnny but by the time they were 50 yards out I was screaming GO Rag's, GO Rag's so loud I scared the cats. My Miss Aurelia and Questing's Cotillion was a close second. There were some very exciting finishes this year.

One of my favoritefinishes in 2012 was the True North Handicap (gr. II) at Belmont (on the undercard of the Belmont Stakes), won by Caixa Eletronica over Justin Phillip in a very thrilling stretch run. (Unfortunately, Giant Ryan broke down in the stretch of this race.)
