The stallions were great, and this was my first open house. The experience was thrilling; to look at stallions up close, showing off their stuff. I had the pleasure of visiting Claibourne on my last visit and was awed by Pulpit. I ran a hand down his neck and shoulder - he's a solid, muscled masterpiece - and has the "look." People who work with these fellas

are justifiably proud and generously share their insights. Always visit a farm when the opportunity is offered. Lots to learn and see, history in the making.

I'm not a breeder and told the stallion manager that and said that they didn't need to bring any horses out for me - is that appropriate? What shouldn't one ask at the open houses?

Luckily there was a breeder and a photographer there and they brought out several of the stallions, including Smart Strike. Everyone was extremely nice at all the farms and a couple brought out their new stallions even though I said they didn't have to. But I was the only one there at the time.

I appreciate your inside look at horse racing.

Actually, we talked to his groom about that tongue of his. After Market and Aragorn like playing with their tongues, many After Market race pictures have his tongue hanging out, but it must not phase him, since he has several graded stakes under his belt.

Rock Hard Ten must be really well behaved to stand like that and let people pose with him.
