Triptych - i have now made the lovely photo of Monsun in his beautiful paddock my desktop photo. Replaces my late brother's photo which i have had for 2 years. I am German, so it is appropriate and my brother won't mind i am sure. Thank you again.

Thank you very much Triptych for the link about Monsun and now we lose Tiger Hill. This is the part of life and the opposite that are hard to understand. I would love them all to live forever but then i am a dreamer.

I'd be interested in what mares Barry Irwin had covered by Monsun and what resulted. Seems to me more attention should be payed to the German Thoroughbred, especially as all I've seen in print says the German Horse has not been medicated to race and perhaps also to be trained?

What a wonderful legacy Monsun has left behind to racing. He was a champion and a fabulous sire. He is very impressive. R.I.P., Monsun. You did a great job in every phase of your life! You will be missed.

I have been a fan of German breeding and racing for as long as I have been in the Thoroughbred business. I only wish some of our bigger stud farms would go over and get some of these German lines and bring them to America. The infusion of stamina would benefit our lines and the outcrossing would bring in needed quality and new breeding angles. I only hope Monsun has left plent of top sons to carry on his line.

Most magical stallion I have ever seen. Bred to him repeatedly, raced his offspring. Nothing like him. Miss him already.

The word impressive does not begin to reward this magnificent stallion and the legacy he has left behind and one that will live on for many years.

Thank you very much for the in depth history of Monsun and his racing career. I am saving this article for my own records and hope to find a photo of him to put with this. I will be looking forward to reading about his daughters entered into the Group II

DFS Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster Sept. 13.
