The MRA Cup, started in 1988, will this year be run on Sunday 24 August, 2014. Initiated by the Malayan Racing Association, this year will be the 26th cup since Colonial Chief won it.

infinitybet have Fixed Odds available for all Singapore Horse Racing events.

This year, the Singapore Turf Club will host a prize of S$300, 000. The race will be run at Kranji, a terrific venue andthe onlyhorse-racing track in Singapore. It also plays host to prestigious races such as the Singapore Airlines International Cup and KrisFlyer International Sprint,Longines Singapore Gold Cup, Emirates Singapore Derby, Lion City Cup, and the Raffles Cup. Not only that, the high-class club is equipped with the most modern state-of-the-art training and veterinary facilities.

It is 100 acres wide, and can boast has treadmills, a swimming pool, horse walkers, and seven tracks of turf and sand. It is one of four clubs regulated by the Malayan Racing Association. The others are the Selangor Turf Club, Penang Turf Club, and the Perak Turf Club; all located in Singapore’s neighbor, Malaysia. Its first race was on 1843.

The MRA Cup has had a very colorful history. In 1988, Colonial Chief led a team to the Hong Kong Invitation Cup at 1800m. In 1989, COLONIAL CHIEFran third, but won the MRA Cup again the following year. In later years, many trainers have won and cast their name in the history of the cup. TehChoonBeng was victorious in 1991. Malcolm Thwaites made a name for himself when he won in 1992. In 1993 Teh’s JINGLE BELL V won, with the runner-ups also his stable mates: Sam Subian’s COURTLINE JESTER and SY Leong’s THE SUNTAN. This was a very good year for the owners, Auric Stable. In 1997, Charles Leck sent FLINT ZEST out to victory at 1400m and again in the next year when he triumphed with EAGLE’S LANDING. Back in the year 2000, Darryl Bradley’s HIGH WIRE and Garry Skinner’s THE BIG BOPPER went past the post together and it was the very first dead-heat in this classic local circuit race.

For this year, it would seem that last year’s winner GOOD BABY will likely triumph again, with CIZEN WORLD and HOT BUTTERFLY very close to not making GOOD BABY’s goal be achieved. ROCKET MASTER, GOOD SIGHT, and LIBERATION SPIRIT would also be top contenders. GOOD BABY is a very good pick by the Golden Knight Stable and this gelding will sure bring another MRA Cup to its name.

infinitybet have a wide range of Racing options and bet types available. Prices correct at time of publishing.
