In eventing he would just be getting old enough to handle the really high level stuff...

This is the kind of story that needs to be heard when it comes to racing. It seems that the only kind of stories that the media cares about involves tragic breakdowns and severely injured riders and that hurts our sport. Great story about a wonderful horse who obviously had the best of care and is loved very much.

What a wonderful story. I have been following this horse seemingly forever, and am extremely grateful that he has been retired from the track happy and sound. Job well done EL BOMBA!!

Another wonderful story from you Esther. It is so great to hear about these older soldiers that still race for so many years. El Bomba deserves all the R&R he can get, but I hope he finds a new career and someone to love him forever. It sounds like he still has lots of spunk. Well done, old warrior...you've earned every bit of spoiling that I am sure you are now getting from Erin at her farm. Thank you Esther, for sharing El Bomba's story.

Great story, it made my day! You have to love and respect the old timers. THey need to be appreciated for their contribution even though many are unheard of ,they are superstars in my book!
