THIS horse exemplifies exactly what I try to communicate to everyone I meet about adopting an OTTB! I recently wrote an article for Equitrekking.com about how I think anyone who is looking for a horse either for trail, pleasure or show should seek out an OTTB. Not only will you be getting a GREAT horse, you could also be saving a life!

Wonderful story. What a dedicated, loving person yo are, Tommie. I just lost my old friend, best horse ever, at age 32. I would have done anything but there was no cure as it was "just" old age and I had to let him go. It was a month ago and going to the barn is still very hard as I took care of him for 24 years, morning and evening, plus all the rides, etc.

What an incredible story. Danny was made for Tommie and vice versa. This is how it is supposed to be between people and their horses. Far too often, people mistreat their animals. Many, many OTTB horses wind up being slaughtered. This is so wrong! Danny and Tommie's story should be an inspiration for everyone who has a horse or is thinking about getting one. I wish Danny a swift, complete recovery and I wish them both many more happy years together. God bless!

I wish I had the money to pay for all of Danny's vet bills. Not possible, unfortunately, but I sure hope some folks who read Bloodhorse might consider helping out. This is a genuine case of unconditional love between Tommy and her horse, Danny. My heart goes out to both of them.

Danny is truly an amazing and very special horse!! He's lucky to have such a fanatastic person as Tommie!! This story brought tears to my eyes because I understand comepletely what it's like to have that kind of bond and unconditional love for a best friend!! There's nothing I wouldn't do for my OTTB and best friend "Windy Jim", and I can only hope I get to share 20 years with him like Tommie got with Danny.
