...And in her eigth race, God created ZENYATTA...I made the 90 minute drive yesterday just to get up close to her. After the race Mr. and Mrs. Moss told the crowd "Sorry to dissapoint...but Zenyatta is headed to the Distaff." And after winning the Lady's Secret (who made a habbit of beating the best males of 86, but later found the Distaff and HOY) how fitting. THE CORRECT DECISION.

Come on folks...how about a round of applause for Well Armed. This horse fires every time at every track and has to be the feel good story of the year after coming back from near death injury to compete at this level. His owner reportedly nursed him back to health by having him swim 35 laps a day in the pool and rode him around his Texas farm in a stock saddle. 8 lengths off Curlin in Dubai, 1/2 lenghts off Go Between in San Diego...BB will have his hands full with this duo or trio (If Curlin shows).

I believe Red Giant's win in the Hirsch was a new world record. Todd Pletcher seems poised to take down any foreign invaiders.

SO it seems the big guns will show up after all , seems it's Curlin Vs Big Brown in the classic. This is probably going to be a handicapper's nightmare, but am loving it. We only need the duke to make it official and Zito to show up, and we probaly will have the greatest line up in classic history.

I must add, I was at belmont to see curlin yesterday, and a he rounded the corner to head for home it gave me goosebumps. He was impressive, Not to knock BB, I saw his race two weeks before also and thought that he showed a lot of heart. With the amount of talent lining up for this race , factor in the uncertainty of the surface, this race is wide open.

Truly some great races today! Curlin's all-class! Mike Smith has two monsters, Zenyatta/Stardom Bound--good luck trying to beat either one of those including Brownie/Curlin & co v Zenyatta--loved Street Boss's (strong!) second in 'Title Stks---thought Ginger Punch shouldda been at Santa Anita today--instead she goes in slop.....they better hope Zenyatta goes in Classic, after all SHE SHOULD/BELONGS/IS PROB FAVORITE IN CLASSIC!!!! And that grey 2y/old filly by Tapit, Stardom Bound blows by them all at odds on...right? Would love 3-1 on filly in Classic....will take the 5/2 on Street Boss in Sprint.....will take Brownie/Col John in Classic if Zen doesn't go....and please come Curlin, you are the "Chairman Of The Board" in this sport, so to speak....

Lucky Island bounces back from his Forego nightmare trip and demolishes this Vosburgh field. Motascoli Mort bounces back from a subpar race in the Pacific Classic and wins the Goodwood. In Summation gets first run on Street Boss and wins the Ancient Title with a clean trip. Vacare, Zenyatta, Ginger Punch, and Stardom Bound all win rather easily and Curlin becomes the all time money earner. Those are my picks on what is a wonderful weekend of racing.

Goodwood-I have been high on Well Armed all year. Gets little respect (14-1 in the San Antonio and 8-1 in the Pacific Classic.) This Tiznow gelding loves Santa Anita and already has put away Heatseeker and some of these. Look for a better timed ride by Gryder.

Lady Secret-Zenyatta will have her hands full with Hystericalady who has won her last 3 by a combined length of 20. Zenyatta will have to be closer like her win in the Milady. If not, this may be her first loss.

Ancient Title-Street Boss-Second by a neck last Feb. or would be riding a 7 race win streak with the last 2 being grade 1s. The synthetic monster has been burning up the southern California tracks. Look for a win tomorrow and on Breeder's Cup day.

Yellow Ribbon-Black Mamba-Has hit the board 10 of 10 (mainly Gr 1, Gr2) since coming from New Zealand.

Goodwood - WELL ARMED to win, INFORMED for 2nd. I would pick SLEW'S TIZNOW for 2nd, but Doug O'Neil says that horse will probably be scratched in favor of going right to the BC Dirt Mile on workouts. If INFORMED wins, or finishes in the money it will seem as if maybe Bob Baffert lost a good horse in a $25,000 claimer. I still can't believe that actually happened.

Jockey Club Gold Cup - MERCHANT MARINE in an upset over CURLIN, but I have all the respect in the world for CURLIN.

What a great day of racing it's going to be! BLACK MAMBA, STREET BOSS, COST OF FREEDOM, BEAR NOW, GINGER PUNCH, MAURALAKANA, FIRST DEFENCE, SPRING HOUSE, ZENYATTA, HYSTERICALADY, MAMBO IN SEATTLE and SURF CAT are all favorites of mine, and I can hardly wait to see them all run.

ill take well armed over tiago in the goodwood..shaping up to be a great race especially with arl. mill. winner spirit one on the synthetics

in the Goodwood I'm not to sure how Spirit One is going to handle the pro ride.So I will go with Tiago,Zappa and Spirit One for the Tri.In the V. I will go with J Be K and Lucky Island.I dont like Fabulous stirke because of his health issues.In the Jockey Gold Cup Curlin all the way if he loses he will lose to Wanderin Boy.Mambo has had 4 tough races back to back and its time for him to regress.God luck everyone. Also watch Turfway Race 1 Lady No trump.

In the Oak Leaf I like Empressive Lady. I think she'll come back with a better effort after her last. She's very talented. Put Toro Bonito underneath and there's your exacta.

In the Ancient Title, I like Idiot Proof. He was way short on conditioning in his last being 1st off the layoff. Sise will have him tighter tomorrow with the ultimate goal as being dead fit for his 3rd off the layoff and the BC Sprint. I think he wins tomorrow and barring any unfortunate setback, he will win the BC Sprint as well.

For the Goodwood, I'm looking for an upset. I'll take Albertus Maximus. I like Gomez picking up the mount and his last 2 works over the Pro-Ride seem to point toward him liking the surface. He should be in a nice position turning for him.

As far as wagering, I'll take a $1 PK3 part wheel, Idiot Proof / All / Empressive Lady. I'll hope for a longshot to hit the middle leg and will get a nice return on a $12 investment if fortunate enough to hit it. I'll wager an exacta box of Empressive Lady and Toro Bonito in the Oak Leaf. In the Goodwood, I'll place money on Albertus Maximus' nose and wheel him on top in exactas with Surf Cat and Well Armed. I'll stay away from wagering at Belmont with the weather being as poor as it is. Good luck to all.

Still breaks my heart that he had to miss last year. He was in top form after the 2007 V.
