I read the Seattle Slew interview again tonight.

I think you have to read between the lines of Dan Rosenberg's comments about Seattle Slew's burial site. Even the face value of "it makes more sense to bury a horse where he has died rather than to transport him" is not much in this instance. Hill 'N' Dale is a fifteen-minute drive from Three Chimneys. And Slew would not have been buried at Rood & Riddle Clinic if he had died there.

So I think we have a very professional horseman, Dan Rosenberg (then president of Three Chimneys), walking a very thin line that day.

Having been truly overwhelmed each time I have visited Seattle Slew's burial site at Hill 'N' Dale, I have come to accept this beautiful yet bittersweet ending to the story.

Very simple why Dashing Debbie is a bad buy.

FIRST SHE RAN 6f at Calderin 1.12.20 when GAME FACE(older mare) ran 6f in 1:10.74 on same day

she also had the rail so she had a perfect trip at calder.

I was Proven right in her NEXt start when she ran 4th.

Matthew, adding Brett to the Viking offense opens up play action passing and for the first time in 20 years the Vikings will be playing with 11 on offense and not 10 because Brett will use the Tight End and the Vikings have not used a Tight End in 2 decades. The offense should be good for 28 points a game and the defense on average lets up about 12 so look for a great year for the Vikings.

Thanks, Jason, for not mincing words about Vick. All his "conversion" sound bites don't mean a thing. It's amazing what you can get away with in this country if you are a big sports figure, especially in football or basketball. That's the main reason I don't follow those sports.

Re your comment about William Turner's not getting a season: Seattle Slew's owners seem to have had a pattern of abrupt dismissals, with Turner, Jean Cruguet, and finally with Three Chimneys regarding Slew's burial site. My impression is that it did not take much to get on their bad side.

I scrolled through the interview before reading it, to see if there was a question about Seattle Slew's burial site. There was, but the answer didn't tell us much, probably because at that early moment Dan Rosenberg may not have known exactly why the horse was not buried at Three Chimneys.

This question has puzzled me over the years because Seattle Slew had been at Three Chimneys for so long. I have to assume that the farm would have wanted him buried there. I know he was sent over to Hill 'N' Dale about a month before he died, ostensibly to give him a quieter environment because he was ill. It just seemed the logical thing to do to bring Seattle Slew back home to Three Chimneys for his final resting place.

That having been said, I must say that Seattle Slew's burial site at Hill 'N' Dale takes my breath away. It is absolutely magnificent. The setting is gorgeous from all angles. The site has a true spiritual quality.

Dray, I, too, thought Hard Spun was a beast! 'Bet him in Classic, got good place price, but Curlin was a monster! I had heard about Curlin early in the year--from a trusted compadre, that he was the real deal--well, he was that in spades He also beat me in the Preakness, as I thought Street Sense had it--his tour de force was the Dubai Cup, too bad, really, so many come back just not the same....He looked awesome on the track in the Classic at Santa Anita---I predicted he'd tire, just like Col John, as you needed a prep down there... but yeah, I'd take Hard pun as a stallion AND a racehorse over Street Sense...over Curlin?...Nada,senor....

ABZ, No, that horse I could not remember was Housebuster! And, yes, at 7 fur 'Bid would be a'comin'---He beat Flying Paster by five at 7 fur---I don't think any of that list could do that! I'll give Dr Fager all the credit for doing what he did, all out all the time from the get go---'Bid could walk outta there, move like no horse I've ever seen, before or since, breathtaking moves of running prowess for 1/2 mile at least--He commanded a race, Shoe was stone cold sure of his greatness, as was I when I saw him for my only time, in the '80 Strub.....besides, at 6 fur even Bid and Dr Fager would have trouble with the great Chinook Pass, who's Palos Verde is/was quite possibly-- the greatest show of raw peed--ever at 6 panels.....

You didn't have to read very many PMAC. Not if you've been reading this blog at all for the last year like you said.

Dray proving his total ineptness at handicapping time after time. His hate on for various horses and his recently proclamation of LOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEE for the game being overridden constantly with his trashing of the horses he hasn't jumped on the bandwagon for or the ones which made him eat his lunch betting wise.

He's a snark and a hater not a doubt in most our minds.

The first clue I got that he wasn't the Mr Horseracing that he proclaims were his comments about trainers not knowing ANYTHING. What a joke and proof that he knows NADA.

I said a whole lot of something about the whole lot of nothing you've been mumbling about.

You ridicule poly yet rave about a horse that you think excels on it.....Hard Spun was a good honest horse, but that's all. He wasn't great. To be great you have to win at least one great race.....what one did he win. I know he won the King Bishop, but his time was slow for a G-1 race.....you know all aout times don't you Dray.....you sure harp about them enough.

Hey everyone ! I have been reading these blogs for about two years now, but have never posted. After reading "DRAYFLUKES post at 11:52am, I had to respond.

Dray, you obviously have some sort of hatred for the "GREAT BOLD RULER COLT", but please keep that to yourself. You are constantly making ridiculous statements that make me laugh everytime, but they get old. Give it a rest with all the hating on the "greats" including big "Z" .

Anyway, cant wait for the rest of this years racing. It looks like there will be some great races, all the way to the breeders cup and hopefully after
