It never ceases to amaze the effort that the horses and connections put foth for our enjoyment on BR Cup Day(s). What a show it was culminating with HOY Zenyatta's impossible triumph coming off a disastourous start to soar by the best field assembled all year for the win. On a different note I had a great weekend just watching how wrong nay nay was after spilling his usual crap leading uo to it all. Seriously dude you ought to find a different outlet for your anger. This one just continues to make you look silly month after month.

Hope to make it nay nay? It seems as if our self-annointed expert is already backpeddaling out of the outrageous promises he made not so long ago. Let's take a stroll down memory lane and refresh nay nay's short term memory loss.

If Zenyatta runs and wins the Classic I will wear a pink dress with a bow in my hair to the Derby next year. There is a 0% chance she runs and wins it so don't worry. I think when we finally see who is in the race it will not matter a whole lot who wins it. But I can guarantee you it will not be Zenyatta.

Zensational took me down all day too. This happened both days to me. Lost all day and hit the last race on both days. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm that can be frustrating but at least there was more than less n the purse at the end. :) I put Life is Sweet and Zenyatta in the DD too so I hit that and didn't even know I hit it until yesterday when I saw the payout on my wagering site. Put 5 bucks on that wager and it was over 200.........

I had 20 straight up on Life is Sweet. It was the only thing I saw Friday. Hind sight 20-20 bet. The 2 Cal Breds California Flag (holds the down hill turf record) and Dancing in Silks (Cal Cup Sprint Champion). For the first time in my life I bet against Zenyatta but instead went with Gio. Enough already award: Pyro, Chocolate Candy, Einstein, and the HIGHLY touted NY Sprinter who didn't run a lick.

i have always wondered how people hit those huge supers... well on B.C.

ladies day i watched a guy hit one for $65,000. it was in the 2nd race.

he went 11 with all with 1 with all..

he even did a bunch of ten cent ones and caught one of them for $6,500.

cost a lot, but won a lot..........

Jason-- Besides a huge win ticket on Zenyatta, I scored big in the Lady Classic-- I had a big win\place ticket on Life is Sweet, the exacta and the trifecta. I saw Mushka's race before the classic--all that trouble and she ran her heart out. I knew then I was going to include her in my exotic boxes.

Monica V. and others, live and learn, right? Here's my war story:

Among several small bets I made at the BC I decided to do a $1 pick 4 on "Ladies Day." (Steve S, if you owned the racetrack you wouldn't even let me in the way I bet.) Anyhow, I used She Be Wild, Beautician and Blind Luck (should have bet tri), then Midday and Forever Together, then Ventura and Informed Decision. Originally had Careless Jewel and Life is Sweet for 4th leg, then decided almost all the older mares had good synthetic form and that none "stood out." I also decided that if I singled lone speed CJ, it would cost $12 instead of $24. My husband urged me to go with my original thought, but no. And I told him, "I'm having fun, I don't mind if Careless Jewel loses, just so it isn't Life is Sweet who wins."

Long story short, I couldn't stand to look at the screen to see how much it paid, but hubby told me it was over $2,000. Moral: Stick with your original thought.

This is off topic but don't you think Santa Anita is the most beautiful track in the country? I've been to several and I still think SA is the best. It's simply gorgeous even better than Churchill.

It's interesting to note that while Zenyatta is 3 points higher than Rachel on Timeform with a 128 vs 125, that Rachel is the highest rated DIRT horse in the WORLD.

Amazing...a 3-year old filly the highest rated dirt horse in the world...and we still have for next year.

Congrats to the three winners, Larry Sealy, TCC, and Ed Kane, My hats off to all of you, Well done! Larry, I just wish you would have posted your angles BEFORE Friday, Well done again! I believe I only got 4 Winners and 3 that placed. Zensational hurt me beyond belief, Since he was everywhere on my tickets, Oh Well, A shame he is retired, Way too early! The only saving grace was Zenyatta, She saved my day, Had a decent Win ticket on her, and a nice exacta wager on Zenyatta/Gio(Thanks Jason!). All in All, A Great Breeder's Cup! Let's Hope 2010 can live up to the excitement 2009 brought...

I only bet "theoretically" on Friday to see how the track was playing, etc. Saturday, I was not doing all that well for the first part of the card, although did have Vale Of York, but discounted Lookin At Lucky. Once the Dirt Mile hit I couldn't lose! I boxed Furthest Land with Ready's Echo to score a BIG exacta! Boxed the first 3 finishers in the Turf to hit the triple and boxed Zenyatta and Gio Ponti(who my husband liked) to hit the exacta in The Classic. Had a great betting day overall as my total investment was around $90, but the biggest thrill was watching Zenyatta win! I didn't even realize I hit the exacta - who was watching anyone else?!

I agree with Emily: the Unbridled tribe are notorious for being too big for their underpinnings to hold up for long careers. Zensational always did strike me as a big gawky sort with some growing yet to do.

My best pick of Friday was Biofuel and my teeth are still grinding over that.

Sorry about kidding you about your handicapping. With your show, I thought you were both. {writter and handicapper}. Your right, it's a hard sport to bet on. It seems you have to have money and box as many as you can afford to hit tri's and super's.
