With Curlin's victory in Dubai, it only cemented Rags to Riches stature as a broodmare. I knew she had class. I can't wait to see what she produces. As a pipedream, I'd love to see what Rags to Riches would produce if bred to Forty Niner.

I was at the finish line when Curlin finished off the field. It was a proud moment. When the Dubai police band played the U.S. National Anthem it was great to be an American.

As good as Curlin is - and that is very good - it reminds one how great a filly Rags to Riches is and what a monumental effort it took for her to win the Belmont over this guy.

Curlin's win is a source of pride for all Canadian fans, as his sire Smart Strike was bred and owned by Sam-Son Farms.Also, his dam sire the late Deputy Minister,the 1981 Eclipse Award 2yr old champion is also Canadian bred.
