In the spirit of integrity and transparency, it may be a good idea to introduce stated reserves or minimum price at all auctions.

As things are, 30% to 40% of offerings are led from the ring as "SOLD". Then a review of the sale shows the horses were RNA. The auctioneer's announcement of "SOLD" was dishonest.

There is also the nonsensical run-up of "bids" in ten-thousand increments when one-thousand would be the right figure. "Bids" to the reserve may fool only the novice buyer, but isn't that the buyer we should try to protect?
