No did-respect is meant toward Mr Cauthen and/or WinStar. Contrary to my pointed post, they are some of the "good-guys" in the business. I merely mean to call attention to the tragedy of too many horses...not enough homes. They do have an average lifespan of 25 to 30 years yu know.

"We're all in this together. We sell seasons and we need breeders to be successful."

...Hmmmm, I thought they were selling living, breathing sentient creatures. Yes, there IS an "appetite" for horses. Just look at the healthy, and young TBs showing up at public auctions, on their way to the slaughter pipeline, to be shipped as meat to European and Asian gourmets...a result of too many horses bred each year, to support the industry.

For the good of the breed, and to shine a more favorable light into the darker corners of horseracing, consider this instead:

"We're all in this together; breeders, owners and the horses. We sell living animals, and we need breeders to be responsible."
