As a novice horse owner, I was struck by the age of the mares mentioned in this article with only one being born in the 2000s ( Hip 7's). Six of the 15 mares mentioned were 15yo or older when they gave birth to these 2 year olds. I am wondering what the statistics show about mares of that age producing graded stakes winners. Just wondering.

many of these babies will most likely bring alot of money.most or all will not run to their blood.mares rarely drop back to back

stars.i was in the buisiness for a high profile owner. we purchased a colt who was a half to spun sugar,thinking we had a star.unfortunately he did not make it.the next foal the mare dropped was a graded winner for mclaughlin.including the cigar mile

Top on my list would be the Hard Spun's. Particularly the one that's a half to Sinister Minister. I always loved that name. Next one to get my interest was the Corinthian that's out of the Saratoga Six mare. I've always enjoyed followed the offspring of Six and Criminal Type's daughters. It will be nice to follow all these youngsters, they are a nice bunch of 2 yr olds.
