lifelongracefan -Racingfan - love racing just now reading the blog. It is May 26, 2013, almost a month after your postings. I did not believe what he said either. Went back and reread it out loud. It still sounded awful.

Feel the same as you all do. He with a wife who is bound to a wheelchair due to a stroke, i thought he would have more passion for the horse instead of the glory and the greenbacks and more understanding in any physical anomalies his horses might show later. Just never know what someone might say when you least expected it from them.

The Kittens he runs are lucky they win. The punishment for losing is no doubt severe.

Sad, yes indeed.

Derbylin, I'm with you about Bob Baffert. He thinks of his horses first and doesn't put them in just to say he did. They spent a good deal of money to ship those horses to Kentucky to not race. What a difference between he and his owners and Mr Ramsey and his trainer. And as far as Mr Ramsey goes, I will not be rooting for him or his horses anymore after hearing that he doesn't appear to care about their well being.

Couldn't agree more with these comments. I also have the upmost respect for Bob Baffert. He isn't just running his horses in the Derby to be in the Derby. Gives others a chance and you can bet his horses will be ready the next time.

Keeneland is the ideal track and I hate that it was invaded this year. I am so glad to see that people are posting what everyone who follows racing saw and did not let the comment go un-noticed. I am very sorry to hear of his probleums. I miss the old Keeneland and hope that Mr. Ramsey quits thinking of his horses with dollar signs and starts to appreciate what he has and starts giving them respect !!

If we can’t fix it, we plunge them down at the lowest level and hope we’re not the last one to own them.” I guess I'm glad this came out AFTER I spent lots of time/$/betting at the Keeneland spring meet. Or am I? It is a disgusting attitude. The MOST amazing thing to me is not only is it obviously something he's not ashamed of, the Blood Horse thought it was a great quote.

How about - if you can't fix them, retire them and send them for retraining to one of the many retirement foundations out there now!? VERY SAD!!!
