Nice article Frank with alot of information to digest for the Classic. I believe it's just coincidence about the past Whitney winners winning the BC Classic. Moreno just like last year will be sacked by the 3/4 spilt b/c of the pressure from Game on Dude and Bayern. Give me a stalker any day at Santa Anita. The likes of Plaice Malice, CC, Shared Belief, WTC, Tonalist. I like those 5 alot more then Moreno, Bayern or even Game on Dude. It will be a tremendous field this year. The handicap division and 3 yr old colts are darn good this year.

Frank, that's very interesting about the Whitney winners parlaying their success into double digit layoffs in the BC Classic. However, I doubt that I'll be able to support him in the Classic. I'll probably look at the Whitney also-rans ahead of Moreno. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

How do you know that about Moreno's shin, BadSaddle?

If Moreno gets the right set-up in the Classic, sure, he could win. I don't expect this to happen, but at least he's a gelding and could remain in training for a long time to come.

Moreno came out of the 2013 BC Classic with a fractured shin (which went unreported) which seems like a good reason to go from 1st to 10th.
