The lightly raced 5 year old might be peaking when a horse reaches it strongest age, as many feel 5 is when a horse reaches its' greatest strength. He has already beaten Will Take Charge, and he has shown he is capable of fast times, as his last NTR at GP illustrates. His breeding suggests a mile and a quarter , to me , should be within his range. He might just be too strong at 5 for the 3 year olds, a formidable group for sure, to handle. No doubt his trainer can get a horse ready for the Classic.

On another topic, does anybody know if Trackattacker, the unbeaten two year old will be pointed to the Juvenile? He reminds me of the dominance we saw from Big Brown, a man amongst boys.

This colt should have no problems with the surface at SA and his races in the winter where very strong, he's the horse to beat.

These and previous races cited here are important contests in their own right and most existed before the BC was even thought of. It demeans the stature of races like the Summer S and the Irish Championship to refer to them only in relationship to the Breeders' Cup races.

Lea had fallen off my radar(out of sight, out of mind). But, you are right. I'll be taking a long look at both of these horses especially with people getting themselves into a tizzy over Chrome & Shared Belief. I'll be wanting to see how all of the horses work over the new Santa Anita surface. It will be fun. I've already scheduled Thursday the 30th off of work so that I can spend the day with the Racing Form. I enjoy that day as much as the two days of action that follow.

California Chrome, Shared Belief, Wicked Strong, Bayern, V E Day, Tonalist and Danza are going to be tough ...and it could get tougher if Constitution and Honor Code make it back in time.
