First-Timers:  Secret Vendetta and Twinzz

Secret Vendetta (Honour and Glory – Courtly Native by Our Native) sold for $26,000 as a yearling at the Keeneland January sale.  This was almost exactly the average for yearlings at that sale.  Her dam, Courtly Native, was a stakes winner and has produced 8 winners including Talaris who won the Bay Meadows Derby on the turf.

The dam of Twinzz (Cozzene – Gemini (ARG) by Tough Critic) has produced 4 winners including Speeding Star (ARG), a Group I winner in Argentina, and Shebelongstoyou, a stakes winner who won over $200,000.  Twinzz sold for $60,000 as a yearling.

Of those who have raced, Light Sleeper (Catienus – De Ice by Dehere) boasts the best sale credentials, having sold for $50,000 as a 2-year old. Nina’s Appeal (Successful Appeal – Collymore Hall by Concerto) is out a stakes-winning dam who won over $170,000.  Alpha Charmer (Alphabet Soup – Cheerio Charmer by Dixieland Band) is a half-sister to 4 winners.

First-Timers:  Campsis and Maltese Dog

Campsis (Mutakddim – Highly Salted by Salt Lake), dam won over $80,000 including third in the Yellow Rose Stakes.

Maltese Dog (War Chant – Seeking Triones by Seeking the Gold) is ½ to one winner who has won over $50,000 in Japan.

Square Deal (Sky Mesa – Jaded by Gone West), who has finished 3rd in each of his 2 starts, sold for $220,000 as a yearling and $650,000 as a 2-year old.  His dam, Jaded, is a daughter of the Grade I stakes winner, Urbane.

Classic Empire (Empire Maker – Rangoon Belle by Alysheba) sold for $190,000 as a yearling.  His dam has produced 3 winners, including Grade III winner Belleski who was Queen of the downhill course at Santa Anita.

Catch the Luck (A. P. Indy – Catch the Ring by Seeking the Gold) is out of the Grade III stakes winner, Catch the Ring.  She has produced the stakes winner, Catch the Thrill who is a full sister to Catch the Luck.

First-Timers: Serengeti, Wine On the Porch, Lunch Time, Aggie Engineer, Noble Courage, and Military Power.

Serengeti (Lido Palace (CHI) – Serenita (ARG) by Southern Halo) is out of the Group I winner Serenita (in Argentina).  She has produced one winner.

Wine On the Porch (Royal Academy – Hightshift by St. Jovite) sold for $140,000 at Barretts May 2-Year old sale (more than twice the average for the sale).  His dam has produced 2 winners, including Shytoe Lafeet who earned over $180,000.

Also selling at Barretts May 2-Year old sale was Noble Courage (Doneraile Court – Radiantly by Mountain Cat)  who brought $85,000, also well above the average for the sale.

Military Power (Our Emblem – Rita Rucker by Dmitri) is the son of Rita Rucker, a stakes winner who earned almost $250,000.  She has also produced the stakes winner, Private World.

Among those who have started, mention should be made of Forest Echoes (Forest Wildcat – Whattacapote by Capote) who sold for $900,000 as a 2-year old and Booted (A. P. Indy – Scoot Yer Boots by Seeking the Gold) who brought $425,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.  Booted’s dam won over $110,000 in only 2 years at the track.

Home of the Gold (Came Home – Box Office Gold by Dixieland Band) sold for $55,000 as a weanling (which was near the average for the sale).  His dam was a Grade II stakes winner of over $210,000.  She has produced 8 winners from 11 to race including stakes winner Basic Concern.
