First-Timers:  Solemn Vow (Broken Vow – Li Law by Known Fact) and Jack’s Grace (Deputy Commander – Citron Moon by Danzig)

Solemn Vow sold for $110,000 as a yearling at the Fasig-Tipton Select Yearling sale (the average was $323,731).  She is a half-sister to 3 winners including War Plan who won over $90,000 and was third in the Withers Stakes.

The auction star of those who have started is Harpeth (Sadler’s Wells – Dandanna (IRE) by Linamix (FR)) who sold for $425,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in 2006.  Also of note is Everlasting Beauty (Stormy Atlantic – Southern Musical by Southern Halo) who sold for $300,000 as a 2-year old in training. Everlasting Beauty is ½ sister to 3 winners.

Other horses of note include Kim D (With Approval – Lords Guest by Lord at War (ARG)) who is a half-sister to Lisa M, winner of the Arlington-Washington Breeders’ Cup Lassie Stakes (gr. III), Sky Copper (Sky Mesa – Legendary Priness by Gone West) whose dam, the stakes winner Legendary Priness, has produced 6 winners, and Possessive (Forest Camp – Halo River by Irish River (FR)) whose dam was a stakes-winner of over $100,000 and who has produced 3 winners including Old Forester a multiple stakes winner (on the turf) of over $460,000.

First Time Starters:  Adebayor (Grand Slam – Alchemilla by Deputy Minister), Devil Maker (Repent - Lacy Lady by Jeblar), Giant Gem (Giant’s Causeway – Tiffany’s Gem by Effervescing), and Spartaco (Five Star Day – Guthrie by Lord Avie).

Adebayor sold for $150,000 as a yearling and $94,000 as a 2-year old.  He is out of the stakes winner, Alchemilla who won over $200,000. Adebayor is her first foal.  She also has a 2-year old by Smarty Jones called Artisan. 

The dam of Giant Gem, Tiffany’s Gem won over $144,000 and 3 stakes.  She is also the dam of 6 winners including graded stakes winners The Seven Seas (who won almost $500,000) and Royal Gem.

Spartaco is out of a stakes winning mare who earned $153,270.  She has produced one winner.

Among the experienced horses, Processor’s Turf (Sky Mesa – Procession by Private Terms) has the most sales statistics.  He sold for $270,000 as a weanling, $240,000 as a yearling, and $425,000 as a 2-year old.  He is a half to one winner. Osceola Prince (Aldebaran – Esprit d’Escalier by Diesis (GB)) sold for $105,000 as a yearling. His dam has produced 7 winners from 8 starters including Gastronomical who earned $468,008 and won or placed in 13 stakes (12 on the turf).

The dam of Forest Prince (Mineshaft – Forest Heiress by Forest Wildcat) won $419,201 including the Sorority (gr. III) and the Valley Stream (gr. III).

No first-time starters in this one.

Romance Included (Include – Rosie Romantic by Honour and Glory) sold for $150,000 as a weanling and $225,000 as a yearling.  Other sales horses of note include Grasmere Park (Cherokee Run – Goodbye Heart by Tsunami Slew) who sold for $180,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, and Papa (Mizzen Mast – Tactical Move by Tactical Advantage) who sold for $120,000 at the same sale.  Grasmere Park is a half-sibling to 6 winners including Graded Stakes winner Commitisize who earned over $780,000 in his career (interestingly, Commitisize is the sire of the placed-horse Austin, who is a half-brother to Papa).

Top billing by pedigree goes to Revenge Is Sweet (Vindication – Urbane by Citidancer).  Her dam, Urbane, was a multiple graded stakes winner of over a million dollars.  Urbane has produced 3 winners included multiple-stakes winner Suave who was also a millionaire. 

Also of note is Clemens (Langfuhr – First Flag by Woodman) whose stakes-winning dam won over $66,000.  First Flag has produced 6 winners including stakes winner Gonetofarr whose earnings total $262,023.

Jazz in the Park (Ecton Park – Time for Jazz) is half to 3 winners, including the grade III stakes winner, Elusive Jazz who won over $370,000.
