Kip Seville just galloped along at the back of the pack on the outside beating one horse. Looks like this may have been a learning experience for this filly. A good showing was made by Baloobas (Kafwain - Ms Bangled by Meadowlake) who was making her turf debut. On the dirt she had shown little, but today she was involved from the beginning and took the lead for a time before tiring late to miss 4th by a nose. She is one to watch next time on turf.

The best the first-time starters could do in this one was the 5th place earned by Simply the Fox. Adorably Dangerous finished 8th and Dishtown 10th. Instead, Miss Meha showed why experience counts, as she professionally stalked the pack before moving to the front. Wild Adventure should not be a maiden much longer as she received one of my favorite chart calls, "willingly."

First-time starter Philo Beddoe ran rather greenly in his debut, but showed some flashes of ability while finishing 4th. Buddy Boy was scratched and will wait another day for his first start. Overall, this race was a case of fast early, slow late as the top three finishers came from the back of the pack to overtake the tiring leaders.
