First-Timer Certifiably Royal showed brief speed before fading to last. The other first time starter, Fuencia, ran 6th the whole way round. Wesley and Posse Cat (who went off at odds of 115-1) dueled through the stretch, but Ready's Echo outfinished them both. However, I think this is the last time you will get 115-1 on Posse Cat.
Ready's Echo and Wesley are both nominated to the Triple Crown. As are Morning Theft, who finished 5th as the favorite, and Old Ninety Eight who was scratched.
