Down the Hatch was scratched and Four Rivers beat one horse, but Heroic Cat did his part for the debut runners, scoring at 30-1 over the heavily favored Southern Guy. Lieutenant Rocket was along for show. One who made up some ground after trailing most of the race was Hangover, who at 43-1 was an even longer shot than Heroic Cat (the $1 Superfecta paid a nice $4,284).
