Busy day on Saturday May 31, as 4 horses are entered. First, Birdcaper makes his debut. Then, we find out if the third start is the charm for Curly. Finally, Renda and Aerin She Lovely square off as they both make their first starts.

This was not the cleanest run race, about the only horse who stayed out of trouble was Long Live Dixie who broke cleanly and went to the lead.

Singing Rose has been entered in a 5 furlong race at Churchill Downs on May 29. Singing Rose's dam, Dial a Song, earned $148,855 in her stakes winning career. Dial a Song did not race as a 2-year old, but she did win her 3-year old debut.

It looked like our two horses, Medaglia d'Onore and Persian took the match race reference to heart as they finished just a head apart.

It's not exactly Big Brown vs. Curlin, but Monday at Churchill Downs two of our horses go head-to-head, as both Medaglia d'Onore and Persian are entered in a 5 furlong race.

Trifecta King (filly; Peace Rules - Mamita by Unbridled) breaks her maiden in style, taking the Cinderella Stakes at Hollywood Park in her second start, thus becoming Peace Rules' first winner.

Trifecta King coming off a 2nd place finish in her only start on May 15, will try stakes company in the Cinderella Stakes at 5.5 furlongs at Hollywood on May 25.

The day has finally arrived when we have two horses entered on the same day, as Rachel Alexandra and Halo Beauty are both scheduled to go to the post on May 22.

Birdstone joins in the fun, as Shoe Strap (Birdstone - Boot Strap by Storm Boot) becomes the first starter for that stallion. Shoe Strap is a homebred for Marylou Whitney Stables (who also bred and raced Birdstone).

A promising beginning for a first-time starter especially since the track was sloppy, hard to predict how horses will react to that kind of surface. Overall, a nice debut for Pleasantly Perfect as a sire.

The filly Trifecta King (Peace Rules) takes to the Hollywood Cushion on Thursday. Her dam is a half-sister to Church Service who is grade II-placed and most recently (on March 29, 2008) finished 2nd in the Tokyo City Handicap.

On track at Saratoga was Smart Woman. Smart Woman is a Smarty Jones' filly out of the winning Storm Cat mare, Storming Beauty. Storming Beauty is a daughter of champion Sky Beauty who earned $1,336,000 and won or placed in 17 graded stakes.
