Jojo goes by them all

It looked like our two horses, Medaglia d'Onore (colt; Medaglia d'Oro - Always Ready by Dixieland Band) and Persian (colt; Peace Rules - Lady Cheryl by Williamstown), took the match race reference to heart as they finished just a head apart.  Unfortunately, they finished 4th and 5th respectively and did not threaten the top three. The early part of the race was dominated by a speed duel between the filly, Mine All Mine, and the high-seller, Bullion Cache.  Mine All Mine put away Bullion Cache, but she couldn't hold off the oncoming Theregoesjojo who closed rather impressively to win going away.

Is there any indication of when a Smarty or P.P. might make their debut?? Thanks!

why are you not posting any information about Chapel Royals first crop?

rmarsh 28 May 2008 10:40 AM

rmarsh - We started out watching the offspring of Birdstone, Medaglia d'Oro, Pleasantly Perfect, Smarty Jones, and Speightstown.  On March 12th, I asked for other sire recommendations and added Congaree, Peace Rules, and Saarland based on reader's comments. It is impossible to follow every first-year sire in depth. However, we do comment on all offspring by first-year sires in the races we profile.

We certainly welcome posting from readers about other first-year sires and 2-year olds in general.

Frank - The first Pleasantly Perfect offspring, Rapid Redux, ran on May 16. It was a very promising debut in the slop.

Not sure about the Smartys, although we are starting to see more horses on the worktab. Keefer has been working regularly the past couple of weeks.

Thanks. Is there a link to a site or page where I can see all of them listed so I can follow them by stable mail?

XIIPointStables 28 May 2008 2:17 PM

It would be great to hear more about the offspring of Lion Heart.  His first crop has gotten off to an awesome start (with Pride, Hostile, etc. getting wins for their sire).  I know you can't do every runner for first crop of sires, but if you have a chance, please look at Lion Heart.  Thank you!

Mysti 28 May 2008 3:29 PM

Mysti - there is a Lion Heart running in tomorrow's race called Cameron Crazies.  You can read more about her here.

XIIPointStables - Brisnet offers a stallion option as part of their Stable Alert.

It's 35 cents a day per sire.

Another option is to look up all the named offspring for a sire and enter them manually enter them into your Stable Mail.  To find all the offspring of a sire, you can go to the free site: http://www.pedigreequery.com/ (although this is not always 100% correct and almost certainly not complete) or a pay service such as  http://www.equineline.com/.

Blood-Horse Staff 28 May 2008 7:04 PM

XIIPointStables - Read the Footnotes has an offspring in one of today's feature races, the filly Tailbytherail.
