The Rule is Not Yet Valid; Midnight Seeks a Break

This one was over for favorite Valid Rule (Peace Rules) almost before it began. As the gates opened, Valid Rule wheeled and dropped Inez Karlsson and attempted to return to the barn. Neither horse nor rider was injured, but Valid Rule will have to wait for another day. Meanwhile, among those horses running straight, Arlington Place took the advantage. He continued on this course and won by 5, to become City Place's 5th winner. Atsatsuki chased, but couldn't gain any ground. Sunday Coach closed well to take the third spot.
