Hug Guts it Out

Hug It Out (Medaglia d'Oro) broke with the front pack, grabbed the rail spot, and swooped to the front. Royal Breeze was chasing, but she soon fell back. Hug It Out took a clear lead in the stretch, but then she started getting tired, as Mommie Whiz was closing in. It was close at the finish, but Hug It Out held on for a neck victory.

Our Golden Dream Comes True

Our Golden Dream (Medaglia d'Oro) was in a good spot, on the outside in about 5th. The opening quarter was slow, and Kent Desormeaux took Our Golden Dream to the front with an impressive burst of speed on the outside. She set easy fractions, but it looked as though Judge Margaret and Elegant Bess might threaten. However, Our Golden Dream spurted away and won easily under a hand ride. The final time was not impressive, but the ease of victory makes one think about the Juvenile Fillly Turf. Our Golden Dream was Medaglia d'Oro's 2nd winner on the day and his 10th overall. Our AE runner, Saarlandisourland (Saarland) and MTO runner, Glory Gold (Medaglia d'Oro) did not make it into the field. The other AE horses, Justify, Freedom Rings, Dancing Daisy, and Scarlet Flame were also scratched.

Majestic Blue Sails; Cabaret Cowboy Checked

Daimon's Glory held the early lead with Majestic Blue stalking. Cabaret Cowboy (Speightstown) was stuck on the rail and had to check hard. He kept coming, but ran out of steam eventually and faded to fifth. Meanwhile, Majestic Blue got up for the win past a stubborn Daimon's Glory. Smarty Jones went from having 9 runners with 12 starts collectively on August 24 to 19 runners with 14 starts four days later. Is that 19 a typo (should be 9?) If not, what's the best way to keep track of his runners (because I've been missing a lot lately)? Thanks for all the maiden info.

AJohnson - yes, that was a typo. Thanks for pointing it out. Smarty has had 9 runners. It has been corrected. The easiest way to keep track of all of a stallion's offspring is through Brisnet's Stable Alert "Sire" feature which is 35 cents a day.
