Uncle Gidge Rules the Tiger

Makesmehappy, Tiger Rules (Peace Rules), and Barracuda Bay battled early, but none was around at the finish. Tiger Rules hung around for a bit, but ended up 8th. Uncle Gidge was lurking just behind these, took control on the turn, and drew off. Both Count On Lou and La Vengansa closed, with Count on Lou finishing best of those two.

Boot is a Cut Above Pacificator

Not a lot of change in position in this one. Boot Cut went right to the lead, pursued by Iron Legacy, with Kentuckysoldierboy following several lengths behind. Boot Cut and Iron Legacy dueled throughout, with favorite Boot Cut pulling away at the end. Kentuckysoldierboy, who was extremely green, was gaining on the top pair and probably would have netted 2nd with a straighter path. Smokin' Legend also had some late gain to finish fourth. I admit that I didn't see much of Pacificator (Peace Rules). Those who have watched races from Kentucky Downs know that the camera angles are not the best. Basically, he galloped along near the back of the pack. I did see him on the gallop out and he looked good there.

Touch of Success, who also finished 2nd at Mountaineer on August 22, cost $47,000 as a yearling. Touch of Success is the first foal out of a stakes-placed mare who earned $248,670.

The only other experienced filly is Blanco Slew (Evansville Slew - Classic Sands by Sandpit (BRZ)), who finished 3rd in her only start at River Downs on July 26. Blanco Slew is the first foal out of a mare who is a half-sister to 4 winners.

Zanilla (Orientate - Farewell Tour by Son of Briartic) sold for $55,000 as a yearling and $150,000 as a 2-year old. She is out of a stakes-placed mare who has produced 4 winners, including stakes winner Sparkling Sabia. Sparkling Sabia was also a winner at 2 and earned $282,855 overall.

T-bred - thanks for the info. Will he be ponying her to the start tomorrow?

No, I doubt that. But wouldn't that make a great photo---"stakes winner of over 600K in 74 starts escorts half-sis?"

Oedy is the stable pony for Jake Secor Racing Stables and provides entertainment in the shedrow when not out jogging with the youngsters.

It would be a great photo. It's a great story anyway. Thanks for letting us know about Oedy's second career.
