Scooter Scoots to Victory

Clash of Arms (Speightstown) went to the early lead followed by Great Love and Kentucky Holiday. It looked like Clash of Arms was home free, but he hit a wall in the stretch and was passed by most of the field. I thought wow, three horses in the race and we are not even going to hit the board. But, suddenly from nowhere, Scootin Scooter (Saarland) emerged from the pack. He came between Kentucky Holiday and Great Love and just got his nose in front at the wire, paying a nice $68.40. I hope someone out there had it. I did not. I boxed the Maiden Watch horses in an exacta, but did not play any of them straight. Run Smart One (Smarty Jones) was up near the pace early, but tired.
