Costa Marta Bests One Perfect Karat

Costa Marta leaped out of the gate in front, but let Heatology take over. Costa Marta was sitting right off of that one, with Ocean Style in third. One Perfect Karat (Pleasantly Perfect) was settled near the back. Costa Marta took over on the turn, as Heatology faded. Runway Starlet closed well to take the third spot. One Perfect Karat made a bit of a move wide, but didn't advance much and finished 5th.

So, the first race on the Pro-Ride went off without a hitch. The winner was the favorite, but the longest shot on the board finished 2nd. Decent time too, 1:16.59 for 6.5 furlongs. Too early to make any judgment on how the surface is playing.
