Mine That Bird BC Bound

The Pre-Entries for the Breeders' Cup will be announced on October 16, so tomorrow we'll see which Maiden Watch horses will be trying for the big prize. As many of you already know, Mine That Bird (Birdstone) will be on the list. He was sold privately and is headed for Richard Mandella in California. The 2-year old males haven't looked particularly strong and with Charitable Man and Run Away and Hide out with injuries, and Vineyard Haven staying away, Mine That Bird certainly will be one of the most consistent 2-years in the field.

So Foxy Outfights Darci; No Light for Congar

So Foxy jumped out of the gate and soon established a clear lead. Jenay Benay, Darci, and Congar Light (Congaree) were all chasing. Darci was racing on the wrong lead, but So Foxy also showed a lot of determination to take the victory. Prom Time closed well for third.

No Catching the Cheater

Suarez and Beencaughtcheating dueled early on, with Jet Set Lass just a bit behind. Beencaughtcheating seized the lead in the stretch, and began to pull away. Suarez held on for awhile, but then began to fade. Floating On Air (Peace Rules) and There Goes Gee Gee both closed well late to pick up 2nd and 3rd. There was no catching Beencaughtcheating in this one, but it was a promising finish for Floating On Air who showed a new off-the-pace dimension.
