River Saar Forges a Victory

Max Out stumbled at the break, but recovered to press River Saar (Saarland) who headed to the front. After a half, Max Out fell back into the pack, but River Saar sped on. First-timer Glittering Robb put it a good run to take second, but she was no threat to River Saar who romped by better than 7 and became Saarland's 7th winner.Tyrconnell's Irish closed well to take third.

Glacial Flour Triumphs, Con Lover Squeezed

Con Lover (Congaree) reared at the start and was squeezed when the horses on either side of her came into her. She never really recovered from this and just jogged around the track. Glacial Flour took the lead and set some quick fractions while being pursued first by For Spacious Skies, and then Just Jane's Girl. Just Jane's Girl drew even with Glacial Flour, but Glacial Flour pulled away again. On the other hand, Princessmarguerite was closing well, but she couldn't catch Glacial Flour.

Christo (Peace Rules) was a little aggravated in the paddock, just as the jockey was getting on. Bearcatt broke on top, but let Woodacre take the early lead and assumed a stalking position. Saint Bear was sitting in a good position in third. Woodacre reluctantly gave way in the stretch, as first Bearcatt and then Saint Bear surged by. Dance to My Beat made up ground late to finish 4th. Christo came wide, but didn't have much impact finishing 6th.

Kick On Kicks to Jean Lafitte Win over Texas Birdstone and Precious Beans

Texas Birdstone (Birdstone) broke well and went right to the lead. But, he was pressed by He's Boy Wonder. Texas Birdstone was never able to get a breather and was done after 3/4 of a mile, leaving the lead to He's Boy Wonder. However, Kick On, who was never far back, overtook that one and pulled away for the win. Precious Beans (Medaglia d'Oro) was in a good spot early, lost a little ground, and finished evenly.

Exe (Exchange Rate - Exaggerate by Cat Thief), Black Russian (Black Mambo - Cupcake by Major Impact), Cumana (Full Mandate - Sweet Alabaster by Gulch), and R Brown Sugar (Exchange Rate - Winlocs Sistermary by Woodman) met in the Florida Stallion My Dear Girl Stakes at Calder on October 18, finishing 3rd, 5th, 11th, and 13th respectfully. Exe broke her maiden in her 5th start, a 5.5 furlong dirt race at Monmouth on September 25. Exe does not have any turf experience. Black Russian broke her maiden first time out, at Calder on July 17. Since then, she has run in three straight stakes, finishing 2nd in the Florida Stallion Desert Vixen Stakes and 4th in the Florida Stallion Susan's Girl Stakes before running in the My Dear Girl. She then won an allowance race at Del Mar on August 18, before finishing 4th in the Lindsay Frolic Stakes and 13th in the My Dear Girl. She has no turf starts.

Oilgonewile (Montbrook - Dignified Woman by World Appeal) finished 6th, behind Black Russian, in the Florida Stallion Desert Vixen Stakes. She had previously won her debut (on June 28), and then finished 2nd in an allowance race on July 31. More recently, she finished 5th in the Catcharisingstar Stakes at 5 furlongs on the Calder turf on September 6, and 4th and 2nd in two allowance tries.

Never Lie (Alke - Taint True by Saint Ballado) broke her maiden in her 2nd start, at a mile on the Arlington Park turf on August 16. She then ran 8th in the Arlington-Washington Lassie (gr. III) behind C. S. Silk and Quite the Lady. Most recently, she was 12th in the Jessamine on the Keeneland turf. She's had a couple of works since that start.

Brazilianbombshell (Wild Event - Samba School by Green Dancer) debuted in the GTOBA Juvenile Filly Turf Dash Stakes at 5 furlongs on the Calder turf on August 2, finishing 10th. She then broke her maiden in a 1 1/16 mile maiden race on the turf at Calder on September 11. She's had three works since then, including one on the turf.

Marija's Wish (Lightnin N Thunder - Arion's Wish by Lyphard's Wish) broke her maiden in her 6th and latest start on October 3 at Calder. Previous starts included finishes behind both Cumana and Ameribelle in their maiden triumphs. Marija's Wish has made one turf start, finishing 7th at 1 1/16 miles on September 28. Marija's Wish has worked twice since her maiden win.

Hot Chili Pepper (Mecke - Sweet Hot Pepper by World Appeal) is also coming into the race off of her maiden score. She was victorious on October 23 at Calder, her second start, after previously finishing 4th on a sloppy Calder track on October 9. She has worked once since breaking her maiden.

On the AE list for this race is Paradise Bound (Pulpit - Devotion Unbridled by Unbridled) who is still a maiden. Paradise Bound hasn't had much luck with Maiden Watch horses. Trainer Dallas Stewart says Pearl of Valor (Medaglia d'Oro) who broke her maiden impressively on November 6 at Churchill Downs, will run back before the meet ends on November 29.

Be Smart (Smarty Jones) had her first workout since the Breeders' Cup, going a half-mile in :49.80. D. Wayne Lukas has not decided yet whether she will run in the Golden Rod (gr. II).
