Stars of Tomorrow Today

Nineteen horses running in 14 races, including 5 Stakes, on Saturday, November 29. Four of the stakes are part of Churchill Downs' Stars of Tomorrow II card. There's no way that I can preview all of these. So, I will summarize the stakes tries and look at a couple of Maiden Special Weight races which feature Maiden Watch horses debuting. The remaining entries will be listed at the end.

First the results from November 28.

Tap Man Draws Off; Kelode Starts Slow

Homecroft took to the lead, but Tap Man and At Least a Miracle were sticking close. At Least a Miracle gave up after a half, but Homecroft was unable to shake free from Tap Man. Tap Man went to the lead in the stretch and drew off to win by better than 3. Kelode (Saarland) broke slowly and lingered at the back of the pack for much of the race. He ended up passing half the field to finish 6th.

Ms Shelley Sought Victory Over Air

Seeking Ms Shelley broke well and was pushed to the early lead. Via Cuvee was stalking. Floating On Air (Peace Rules) had a rail spot, just behind the leaders. She did enounter a bit of traffic trouble, which delayed her progress. Once Floating On Air got in the clear she closed well, but she couldn't catch the free running front-runner Seeking Ms Shelley.
