Happy Birthday!

Birthday Greetings to the brand-new 3-year olds today, and especially the Maiden Watch horses. And, thanks to everyone who has read and commented on the Maiden Watch blog in 2008. I hope that everyone has a great New Year's Day. My mother used to say that whatever you do on New Year's, you will do all year long. So, I hope that you spend some time on the horses today.

In the next week, I will be posting a poll to determine which 2009 first-year stallions we will be following this year. Please feel free to post suggestions.

In the meantime, we will follow the first three-year old performers for our current stallions.

Suarez Overtakes Bajan Kitty

It would have been nice to end the year with a win, but alas that was not to be. Bajan Kitty (Speightstown) dueled early, but weakened late to finish 4th. It was an impressive performance for Suarez, who was up close early, but seemed to back out of it. She came on again late and won easily. Betterthanfiction, who dueled with Bajan Kitty, held well for 2nd, while Susananda closed well for third.
