Jaystone to Run Smartly

Gossip Gil Rules Houston Tunes

Heartbreak Trail garnered much of the attention in this one, and not in a good way. First, she didn't want to load and delayed the break. Then, she stumbled from the gate, losing her rider. Heartbreak Trail will probably getting some schooling after that performance. Of those who came out of the gate still in the race, Macaria broke on top. She was soon joined by first-timer Sophie's Meatball, who was slow to start, but then rushed into contention. Sophie's Meatball took the lead after a half, as Macaria faded. Gossip Gil came running on the inside, and Shaunna came rolling outside. Favorite Gossip Gil was going best, and drew off by better than three. Houston Tunes Rule (Peace Rules) didn't run much, finishing last. Hard to tell if she has any ability from that performance. She went off at a decent price (5-1), so I'd be willing to give her another shot. It could be one of those, "what I don't understand what's going on" moments that occur with first-time starters.
