Tough day on Friday as two odd-on Maiden Watch horses tasted defeat. Saturday's entries are highlighted by Mine That Bird (Birdstone) and Hornung (Speightstown) in the Borderland Derby.

Persistence paid off for Stone Legacy (Birdstone), who finished 2nd a tantalizing 3 times before breaking through with a win. Plus, four Maiden Watch horses tackle stakes and plenty of maiden races.

Ok, so it was Ohio-breds at Beulah (no offense to either Ohio-breds or Beulah), but a win by 8.5 lengths is nothing to sneeze at.
