Both Jersey Town (Speightstown) and Gold d'Oro (Medaglia d'Oro) were scratched from their respective races on January 11. Have One More won the first at Gulfstream (in which Jersey Town was entered). In the 9th race, in which Gold d'Oro was entered, Anzelita was the winner. Zenyatta's sister Treasure Trail did make a bit of a move, but finished 6th.

Other Results for February 11

Askmethequestions (filly; Speightstown - Pass Me the Salt by Salt Lake) made a late move to take third in her maiden claiming race at Charles Town. Askmethequestions was claimed out of the race. Maybe, her new owners will run her long?

Gifts for a King (colt; Saarland - Shepherd's Star by Seeking the Gold) was 2nd in his maiden claiming race at Delta Downs. He couldn't catch the winner, but was well clear of the rest of them.

Conchacer (Congaree - Eliot Chacer by Clever Trick) makes his 2nd start, after finishing 2nd first time out at Tampa Bay on January 27. I am wondering a little while they are running him in maiden claiming, after his promising debut at the maiden special level. However, in this economy, you aren't going to have many takers at $50,000 and this may just have been the right day and distance. A $85,000 yearling, Conchacer is out of stakes winner Eliot Chacer, who earned $107,950. Eliot Chacer has produced 3 winners.

Finishing 8th and 10th, behind Conchacer, on January 27 at Tampa Bay were Wentworth (Essence of Dubai - Makewayforwendy by Way West (FR)) and Grey Knight (Black Tie Affair (IRE) - Prospect Saras Ack by Prospect Bay). Wentworth had previously finished 5th at Tampa on December 31. He is the 2nd foal out of the winning mare Makewayforwendy. Makewayforwendy is a half- or full-sister to 4 winners. Grey Knight's previous racing was done at Arlington Park, where he was 7th both on August 22 and September 12. He is a half-brother to stakes winners Rochester Cat and Silver Stairs.

Comitatus (Posse - Spirit of an Angel by Green Dancer) and He's One for One (Devil His Due - One for Smoke by Special Lineage) have both made one start. Comitatus was 3rd in his start, on December 27 at Tampa Bay Downs. A $140,000 yearling, Comitatus is a half-brother to 3 winners. He's One for One was 10th back on August 30 at Ellis Park. He is out of stakes-placed One for Smoke. One for Smoke has produced 8 winners from 9 to run, including two full-sisters to He's One for One.

Completing the field is debut runner King Mufasa (Black Mambo - Creek 'n Along by Storm Creek). King Mufasa is the first foal out of the unplaced mare Creek 'n Along.
