Clay

Rachels time 1:36.40 was much more than decent. Last years Martha win by Eight Belles was 1:39. Last years Southwest win by Denis of Cork was 1:37.40. And even Smarty Jones Southwest win was a full second slower than Rachels. I will be watching todays Southwest to compare the winners time. But let me tell you, this filly can rock. Borel eased up on her with a 1/16th to go and she just cantered home. Stardom Bound would be hard pressed just to keep up with this filly!

Clay - I was just going to correct my note about the time, but you've done it for me. Thanks.

Just watched the Southwest. Rachel was a full second faster than Old Fashioned.

They always thought Rachel could be a monster and she has matured into one.  She won galloping home and OF just had better fractions and struggled home 1 second slower.  Just hope Hal and Brett can keep her going.
