Annie Strikes Again

She's Our Annie (Medaglia d'Oro) continues to impress, as she won for fun at Oaklawn in an Allowance/Optional Claiming race. She went right to the lead, set some nifty fractions (21.88, :44.50, :57.98) and registered a final time of 1:10.77, winning by 6 with little encouragement. After it was over, she looked ready to go around again. Looks like another good Medaglia d'Oro filly.

Il Postino Masters Maestro

True Ally sped to a clear lead. His closest pursuers were New Yawker and Maestro and Master (Smarty Jones). Il Postino was waiting off the pace. He made a move wide and hit the lead. Then, it was just a matter of margin. At the wire, he was better than 11 in front. I was kind of surprised that this favorite did not get claimed. His connections are probably breathing a sigh of relief tonight. Maestro and Master tired and finished 11th.
