Bobbin Gets Gold Over the Hippie

Bobbin'forgold took command early, setting easy fractions. Hippie Princess (Peace Rules) provided early company, but began to retreat after a half. She ended up 10th (last). Up front, Bobbin'forgold built up a 4 length lead, but Candy Apple made a race of it. After starting slowly, she came rolling wide and got within a length of Bobbin'forgold. But, the wire came in time for Bobbin'forgold to get the win. Waikiki Waves made up a lot of ground as well finishing 3rd, but she bore out into Pleasure Academy in the process and was disqualified to 5th.

The Final Judgement for Beans and Dance Routine

Red Dagger took to the early lead, pursued by a rank Southern Region. Watching this action was Final Judgement, who made his move in the stretch, drawing off to win by four. Prince Teton also made up ground late to take 2nd. Precious Beans was lingering near the back early and then rallied. He moved easily into 3rd, and was beginning to threaten for 2nd when the wire came. Still not a bad performance for the 70-1 Precious Beans. Dance Routine (Smarty Jones) seemed to only run in spurts, which is common for a first-timer, but ended up a decent 4th.

Esperanza d'Oro (filly; Medaglia d'Oro - Seasonal by Deputy Minister) was off to a better start this time, but she couldn't run down Trippi Dippedy Dot, who overtook pacesetter La Tarzana in the stretch. Esperanza d'Oro had to settle for 2nd in this allowance race at Tampa Bay. Strike Jak (filly; Peace Rules - Sunset Crest by Strike the Gold) ran evenly to finish 5th.

Casa d'Oro (colt; Medaglia d'Oro - Six Pack Sally by Tale of the Cat) went right to the lead in his allowance race at Laurel, but was pressed by Preachers Pulpit. Those two dueled to the wire, but they were both passed by Count On Lou, who came rolling wide. Casa d'Oro finished third, just behind Preachers Pulpit. I think it's time to teach Casa d'Oro to rate. Tone It Down (colt; Medaglia d'Oro - Chattin by Rollicking) was scratched.

Capitol Limited (colt; Saarland - Radiantly by Mountain Cat) was in a good position early, then moved wide, but couldn't make up much ground, finishing 5th in his Maiden Claiming race at Oaklawn.

Peace Reigns (filly; Peace Rules - Diamond Dottie by Eagle Eyed) was in mid-pack, got forced 5-wide, tired and finished 8th in her Maiden Claiming race on a sloppy track at Oaklawn.

Garlington (colt; Peace Rules - Foreign Country by Sefapiano) didn't show much in his Maiden Claiming debut at Fair Grounds, finishing 9th (of 10). He went off at a decent price (8-1), so it may have been first-time jitters. Throw this one out.

Bugle Ann (filly; Birdstone - Lady Taurus by Holy Bull) had tons of trouble in her Maiden Claiming race at Oaklawn, checked, blocked, bothered, but still persevered and finished 4th.

Oriental Sunshine (filly; Medaglia d'Oro - Kristi's Sunshine by Miswaki) was up close early and then faded to 8th in her claiming race at Turfway Park.

Clash of Arms (colt; Speightstown - Distinctive Code by Lost Code) was scratched from his claiming race at Gulfstream.
