Differentiate Gets the Update

Sue's Update (Medaglia d'Oro), Indemand (Saarland), and Miss Brown Eyes went at it early on. Indemand soon gave in and faded back to finish 9th. Sue's Update shook free and built up a bit of a lead, but Differentiate came running 4-wide. Sue's Update fought back, but Differentiate took the win. Sue's Update was well clear of the rest. She probably didn't see Differentiate until late, because that one was so wide. Sue's Update should get her maiden win soon, Indemand may need to shorten up.

Saarbricken (Saarland) didn't have much chance in this one, but neither did anyone else. No one, that is, except Choice Cat, who got out quick and had a three length lead before most of the rest had even started. She ended up winning by better than 7. Appealingtome was four in front of everyone else. Saarbricken finished back in 9th.

Sweet Kristen (filly; Peace Rules - Puddy Cat by Mountain Cat) stalked the early pace, came running 5-wide, and got her head in front to take her Allowance race at Charles Town. Tbilisi (filly; Birdstone - Tripp Trial by Skip Trial) was near the back early and passed some tired ones for 4th. Prosecca (filly; Speightstown - Pink Champagne by Awesome Again) was scratched.

Conga Queen (filly; Congaree - Special Test by Hawkin's Special) made it two in a row, taking her 6 furlong claiming race at Oaklawn. She set the pace, never gained too much of an advantage on the field, but was able to hold them all off for a length victory.

Gabby's Golden Gal (filly; Medaglia d'Oro - Gabriellina Giof (GB)) stalked the early pace and then got her head in front, but Heartless Vixen flew by the whole field late to finish better than 4 in front. Gabby had to settle for 2nd.

Glory Gold (filly; Medaglia d'Oro - Gayla by Lord Gaylord) took a run at 1-9 favorite Rightly So, but couldn't catch her, and flattened out to finish third in her Allowance race at Aqueduct.

Congo Kaye (filly; Congaree - Palau by Kingmambo) was off slow and passed one tired one, to finish 5th in her Allowance/Optional Claiming race at Golden Gate.

Miss Marple (filly; Saarland - Future Diamonds by Roberto) finished a good 2nd in her Maiden Claiming race at Oaklawn. She trailed the field early and then came running in the stretch. She was no threat to the winner, but was clear in 2nd. By the way, Miss Marple is a serious tail-swisher. Many horses (especially fillies) swish their tails in response to the whip or just in general, and Miss Marple definitely fits in that category. She was swishing from the time she started her drive. But, it didn't seem to hinder her running.

Peace Be With You (filly; Peace Rules - Gold Parody by Java Gold) was near the back throughout her Maiden Claiming race at Gulfstream, finishing 8th.

Palin (filly; Medaglia d'Oro - La Alleged by Alleged) chased the pace early, and then faded to finish 7th in her Maiden Claiming race at Turfway.

Perfect for a Run (colt; Pleasantly Perfect - Unbridled Ashley by Unbridled) had all kinds of trouble in his debut Maiden Claiming race at Gulfstream. He stumbled at the start, then hit the rail on the turn and finished 10th. I'm thinking do-over. He took a little money (10-1), so must have made a somewhat favorable impression on the multitude.

Work for Peace (filly; Peace Rules - Southern Solstice by Southern Halo) pressed the pace early, and then weakened to finish 6th in her Maiden Claiming race at Charles Town.
