Broad Stone 2nd - Again

2-Year old Works

Three of our previous Kitten's Joy's workers were on track again, Cater to Kitten (colt; Kitten's Joy - Olinka by Wolfhound), Dean's Kitten (colt; Kitten's Joy - Summer Theatre by Ide), and Scottkeith'skitten (colt; Kitten's Joy - Miss Bergdorf by Old Trieste). This time, they went 4 furlongs at the Churchill Downs Training Center, in :49.40, :49.60, and :49.80. The move to Kentucky is interesting.

The Saint Liam filly, Saintly Ways (filly; Saint Liam - Visual Art by Deputy Minister) was on the worktab again, going 2 furlongs on March 7 at Double Double Diamond Farm and Training Center, with a time of :26.12.

It's Destiny Over Broad Stone, Tannic

Motown Blues broke on top, but soon began moving backwards. Son of Destiny took over, pursued by The Mallard Man. Son of Destiny put that one away in the stretch and began to draw away. Broad Stone (Birdstone) settled off the pace, and began to advance steadily. He couldn't catch Son of Destiny, but he was well clear of the rest of them, finishing 2nd for the 3rd time in a row. Tannic (Saarland) was off slow and never much involved, finishing 7th.

First Passage to Victory

First Passage and Artisan (Smarty Jones) dueled early. The latter filly got her head in front after a half, but the lead was short-lived. She began to tire, as First Passage went on. June Day closed late, but she was no threat to First Passage. Smart 'n Snazzy (Smarty Jones) secured a good spot on the rail, but didn't have any punch, finishing 11th.

Bigsurprisemister Rules Bosco

Favorite Big Six set the pace, pulling clear from the pack. But he tired late and allowed the rest to catch up. To everyone's big surprise, 14-1 Bigsurprisemister came rolling wide to get up for the victory. Cart Doctor was also coming wide to take 2nd. Bosco Rules (Peace Rules) ran evenly in fourth place almost the entire race, and that was where he finished.
