Easily the most impressive performance of the day was Gabby's Golden Gal (Medaglia d'Oro) in the Sunland Park Oaks. Hudler took the early lead, pressed by Gabby's Golden Gal. Gabby's Golden Gal moved along side and then took the lead. These two raced together for a time but Gabby's Golden Gal soon shook free. Kelly Leak Powers Over Mine That Bird

Mayor Marv, Santamonicacanyon, and Valid Stripes mixed it up early, going way fast up front. Mythical Power (Congaree) was sitting just behind those. Farther back was Mine That Bird (Birdstone), who was watching the action. Mine That Bird made a move on the outside and hit the front. But, Kelly Leak was closing from the back of the pack. He came rolling way on the outside to take command. Mythical Power moved late to get the closest to Kelly Leak, finishing 2nd. Scorewithcater took 3rd from Mine That Bird at the wire. Interesting that Scorewithcater and Mine That Bird finished together again, just a neck apart. Watch the Replay.
