Saint Liam's Tribecky in at Keeneland

Heaven is too good for Dean's Kitten

Two scratches (Everyday Hero and Red Oak Ridge) reduced this one to a field of 5. Dean's Kitten (Kitten's Joy) was a bit agitated before going to the gate. Julien Leparoux moved him away from the other horses and the pony to try to calm him down, but he was still on his toes quite a bit. He came out of the gate slowly and started behind the rest. Up front, there was quite a battle as favorite Foot the Bill, Zipatron, and Dp the Facilitator all tried for the lead. Coming on the outside was Heavenville, who rolled by the pacesetters, for a very professional win of more than 4 lengths. Heavenville is the first winner for Offlee Wild. Dean's Kitten finally got going and made up good ground late to take third. Watch the Replay.

When Maiden Watch was conducting the poll for what freshman sires would be among the five to be watched, I made a case for Offlee Wild.

Of course, I know that one starter and one winner doesn't make a champion freshman sire, but the way Heavenville won his race today says that Offlee Wild could be one to be reckoned with.  He himself was dripping with class, and at the end of the day, class is what makes freshman sires.

Darley/Jonabell didn't acquire Offlee Wild for their stallion roster without a reason.

I think he's going to be a good one.  Time will tell.......

Looking forward to the 2 year old race at Keeneland today - Not only St Liam's first starter - but also the first starter for Pollard's Vision - a horse I really like.

I personally can not wait to see Rock Hard Ten's babies hit the track.  Being the RHT obsessed woman that I am, have been following his first babies through the sale ring.  I am very interested to see how his America America baby will turn out after the Keeneland 2yo in training sale :)
