Mayor Marv
set the pace, pursued by longshot Red Lead. Those two put space between themselves and the rest of the field. Mythical Power (Congaree) was rating comfortably in third. Red Lead got the best of Mayor Marv, but couldn't stop Mythical Power who made his move on the outside. Once he put Red Lead away, he drew off from the rest. The final margin was better than 7. No Charity for Al Khali

As expected, the newly blinkered Hello Broadway went to the lead. He set some unbelievable fractions for a mile and an eighth race, :23.38, :44.89, 1:08.93, while building up a big margin. Charitable Man began to close the gap after 6 furlongs, and powered to the lead. Imperial Council went after him, but chased in vain. Making up a lot of ground late, despite a dropped whip, was Brave Victory. Hello Broadway tired to 4th. Al Khali (Medaglia d'Oro) was in a good spot in third, but he gave way when the real running began and finished 5th. Watch the Replay.
