Maddie's Odyssey is DeceleratedMaddie's Odyssey
(Kitten's Joy) was off slowly, and continued to lose ground, finding herself at the back. She did show a little pickup late, to almost catch the next to last horse. A better start and more distant should help her cause. However, despite Maddie's Odyssey's performance, this was a nice race. Favorite Hot Dixie Chick
broke on top, but she was closely attended by Proud Zoe
. Hot Dixie Chick finally shook off her rival in the stretch, but she had no time to rest. Decelerator
, who had been waiting back in third, came rolling on the outside and got by the front-runner. I believe this is 1993 2-year old champion Dehere's first crop since returning to America. Looks like he has a nice one here. Watch the Replay

Palin (filly; Medaglia d'Oro - La Alleged by Alleged) could have gotten into her Maiden Special Weight race at Churchill Downs, as it was taken off the turf and reduced to a field of four. But, her connections wanted to wait for turf, so they'll try again Friday.
On the other hand, race 8, an Allowance/Optional Claiming race, stayed on the turf at Belmont, so MTO Pitched Perfectly (colt; Pleasantly Perfect - Musical Minister by Deputy Minister) was scratched.

II), the feature on Pimlico's Friday card, Payton d'Oro (Medaglia d'Oro - Jealous and Jaded by Jade Hunter), Stone Legacy (Birdstone - Gulch Legacy by Gulch), and Renda (Medaglia d'Oro - Ten Carats by Capote). The 2nd place finisher in the Davona Dale Stakes was Casanova Move (Langfuhr - Casanova Junction by Pleasant Colony), who is the likely favorite in the Black-Eyed Susan. Bold Union won that race and Miss Ocean City finished 5th. That was Bold Union's 3-year old debut. As a 2-year old, she won her debut by better than 10 lengths and then won the Astoria Stakes. She then finished 4th in both the Adirondack (behind Mani Bhavan) and in the Kentucky Cup Juvenile Fillies. Miss Ocean City also won her first start at 2. She then finished 6th in the Matron (gr.
