Lord Justice is Perfectly Pitched in the Spend a Buck

Pitched Perfectly (Pleasantly Perfect) was in mid-pack early, but lost position and finished up 8th (last). Pitched Perfectly just doesn't seem to be the same animal when he doesn't get the lead. Halmi Runs for Speight in the Green Carpet

The filly Lipstick 'n Lace took the early lead, pressed by Crossed Sabres. Runningforspeight (Speightstown) and Hurley's Way were not far off, stalking the pacesetters. The scene changed after 6 furlongs, as the early speed retreated and Halmi began his run. Hurley's Way seized the lead, but it was short-lived as Halmi joined him. Those two battled to the wire, with Halmi surging to get the win. Raise the Reward made a move to get into third, but couldn't get any closer, running evenly late. Runningforspeight appeared to be in the perfect position, but we couldn't make up any ground late and finished 5th. A mile and a sixteenth may be a little too far for Runningforspeight.

Was curious how you determine which stallion's progeny you watch in this blog.

Is there a site to watch the replays of these maiden races?  I missed the 9th race at Hollywood Park and would also love to see how the rest of these babies have done....I did watch the 4th at Hollywood Park and was most impressed with Mi Sueno...just like mama.  I guess her trainer is pretty confident with her, when speaking to the jockey and how he has his sights for her on the BC.

Jennie - The stallions were chosen by readers. We had a vote starting on Jan 13 and concluding on Jan 20. Last year's stallions were picked primarily by reader suggestions and some added by me.
