Only one 2-year old result, as Recession Proof (Afleet Alex) was scratched from her race at Colonial Downs. That one was taken by favorite Taking a Chance (Stephen Got Even - Coquettish by Not For Love), who came from off the pace and then drew away to win by 4. Watch the Replay.

Taking the Summer Line over Sweet Kitten

Home Serena lost her jockey at the break. The rest broke fairly well, but Pool Bash emerged with the lead. She was soon joined by Summer Line. Those two dueled for awhile, but Summer Line began to pull away on the turn. Sweet Kitten flew out of the pack to take a clear second, but she was no match for Summer Line (Tenpins - Line Squall by Summer Squall), who was a good looking winner. Anasheed's Gold took third over Bethia. View the replay here.

Other June 12 Results

Double Espresso (filly; Medaglia d'Oro - Second Strike by Fast Play) was shaking her tail, but she kept on running and wore down the pacesetter to get the win in her Allowance race at Churchill Downs. Stone Legacy (filly; Birdstone - Gulch Legacy by Gulch) trailed most of the race and came along for third late. Kiddari (filly; Smarty Jones - La Paz by Hold Your Peace) was scratched. Watch the Replay.

Dreams d'Oro (gelding; Medaglia d'Oro - Morning Time by Gilded Time) won a Maiden Claiming race at Lone Star Park. Watch the Replay.

Steel Lucky (filly; Congaree - Luck (ARG) by Kasteel (FR)) won a Claiming race at Thistledown.

It took Live the Dash (colt; Peace Rules - Western Resolve by West by West) awhile to get rolling in his off-the-turf Allowance race at Monmouth, but he started moving late and kept coming and coming. At the wire, he was a scant nose short in second. Watch the Replay.

Esperanza d'Oro (filly; Medaglia d'Oro - Seasonal by Deputy Minister) came on at the end to finish 2nd in her Allowance/Optional Claiming race which was run on the dirt at Belmont. Watch the Replay.

The 10th at Churchill Downs was kind of a dissappointment. Three horses in the race and the best that we could do was fourth by Senor Fuego (colt; Speightstown - Vasquez by Coronado's Quest). Reynaldothewizard (colt; Speightstown - Holiday Runner by Meadowlake) ended up 6th and Jazzandthemagician (colt; Birdstone - Pat Hand by Cape Town) 7th. Watch the Replay.

Remember C O Peace (filly; Peace Rules - Carson's Cat by Mountain Cat), who dumped her rider in her debut? Check out the chart from today's race: "C O PEACE again attempted to duck into the gap between the temporary rail and the main track but was herded back to the racing surface by the good work of the outrider to keep his pony filling that gap and moving alongside, then failed to seriously threaten while moving up in the far turn." Despite all of that, she still finished finished 4th.

Miracle Baby (filly; Smarty Jones - Heritage of Gold by Gold Legend) dumped Jesus Castanon in the post parade and never seemed happy and lingered at the back throughout of her Maiden Special Weight on the Churchill Downs turf. She ended up 10th (last). Watch the Replay.

Warrior's Reward (Medaglia d'Oro - For All You Do by Seeking the Gold) and Broad Stone (Birdstone - Broad Legacy by Broad Brush) seek their first stakes wins in the mile and a sixteenth Northern Dancer Stakes (gr. Second in that race was Munnings, who returned on June 6 to win the Woody Stephens (gr. II) in impressive fashion. Broad Stone broke his maiden in his most recent start on April 29 at Churchill Downs, after finishing 2nd four times. He was claimed out of that race, and his new connections have decided to try graded stakes.

Parade Clown (Distorted Humor - Twilight Parade by El Prado (IRE)) is the only stakes winner in the field. He won the mile WEBN Stakes at Turfway Park on February 7. He then finished 2nd in the John Battaglia Memorial Stakes on February 28, and 4th in the Lane's End Stakes on March 21. Both were also at Turfway.
