Red Rallys Over the Kittens
Lots of nice looking horses in this big field. I particularly liked the look of Under Like Thunder (Exchange Rate - Stage Door Honey by Theatrical (IRE)) and Bridgetown (Speightstown - Ellesmere by Tabasco Cat). Romans Reward (Kitten's Joy - Knock Off by Fit to Fight), a flashy chestnut, was on his toes, and received a lot of early attention from the bettors. William's Kitten (Kitten's Joy - Blush by Menifee), a bay, was more subdued. At the break, almost the entire field was left. The big exception was Red Rally (Reformer Rally - Premium Red by Thirty Six Red), one of the experienced runners in the race, who shot to the lead. He was closely followed by Leroidugazon (Leroidesanimaux (BRZ) - Captive Miss by Acaroid) , another of the experienced entrants. Making a big run after a bad start was Bridgetown (Speightstown - Ellesmere by Tabasco Cat) who overtook Leroidugazon in second. Red Rally was gone by then, however, drawing off by better than 3. Romans Reward ran a credible race, off in mid-pack and evenly late to finish 4th. William's Kitten did not break well, but was able to improve his position late to finish 7th. Red Rally, who is a half-brother to grade I winner Premium Tap, is the first winner for his sire, Reformer Rally. Watch the Replay.

3-year old Stakes Results June 27
Rachel Alexandra (filly; Medaglia d'Oro - Lotta Kim by Roar) sat off a wicked pace and then took control in the Mother Goose Stakes (gr. I) setting a new stakes record, and winning by more than 19. Read more about the Mother Goose here. Watch the Replay.
Congo Kaye (filly; Congaree - Palau by Kingmambo) closed well on the rail, but couldn't get by Kaweah Princess in the Sweepida Invitational Stakes, settling for second. Congo Kaye has run in 3 stakes, winning once and finishing second twice. Overall, she's run 7 times with one win, two seconds, and one third. It's most likely not a coincidence that Congo Kaye's stakes tries have been on the dirt, while her off-the-board performances were on Tapeta.
Renda (filly; Medaglia d'Oro - Ten Carats by Capote) seemed poised to make a move in the LuLu's Ransom Stakes at Calder, but couldn't manage to finish better than 4th. Watch the Replay.
Other 3-year old Results June 27

Dark Starlet (filly; Speightstown - Flowers and Vines by Blushing John) was off slowly, and didn't make up much ground, finishing 6th in her Allowance race at Monmouth. Watch the Replay.
One Hot Toddy (filly; Congaree - Crimson and Roses by El Prado (IRE)) settled off the pace, steadied in the turn, and didn't do much after that, finishing 6th in her Allowance/Optional Claiming race at Calder. Watch the Replay.
The Gang of Four (colt; Medaglia d'Oro - One Tough Cat by Mountain Cat) dueled for the lead early, but tired to 10th in his Allowance race at Churchill. Watch the Replay.
