Sister Resists Keith's Kitten

This one came off of the turf, and was run on the fast main track. Maroota (Wiseman's Ferry - Autumn Glow by Gilded Time) was a scratch. Keith's Kitten (Kitten's Joy - Silent Emotion by Ghazi) was definitely on her toes. Cactus Cadillac (Cactus Ridge - Plum Country by Country Pine) looked cool in the warm-up. Ms. Thanksgiving (Formal Dinner - Dance On the Green by Green Dancer) broke on top, with Keith's Kitten pressing. Also up close was Exquisite Miss (Buddha - Exquisite Mistress by Nasty and Bold). Autumn Bells (Unforgettable Max - Bellah's Star by Risen Star) made a big move, but couldn't sustain it. Making a more substantial move was Sister Resistor (Jump Start - Luff by Easy Goer), who zoomed to the front. Keith's Kitten stayed with her for awhile, but she was unable to resist, and Sister Resistor drew off by 4. The betting public got this one pretty much correct. They had trouble deciding between Keith's Kitten and Sister Resistor, and third-choice was Ms. Thanksgiving. It was another nice effort from Keith's Kitten, who has now finished 2nd on both the turf and the dirt.

Looking Smart Over Miss Afleet Alex and Rock Hard Baby

Santa Trinita (More Than Ready - Bridge to Cross by Phone Trick) was the early favorite in this one, but Mia Swamp (Swamp - Mia Cat by Forest Wildcat) was the choice at post time. Both Miss Afleet Alex (Afleet Alex - Go Again Valid by Valid Appeal) and Rock Hard Baby (Rock Hard Ten - Bully's Del Mar by Notebook) were on their toes, Rock Hard Baby maybe a tad too much. The Smart Look (Smarty Jones - Nannycam by Pulpit) and Cactus Patch (Cactus Ridge - Approved Anthem by With Approval) made favorable impressions in the warm-up. Mavs Juliet (Maverick - Best Offense by Defensive Play) and Rock Hard Baby dueled early. They were joined and passed by Cactus Patch and Santa Trinita. Those two, however, had no answer for the closing kick of The Smart Look, who went by the whole field to get the victory. Also moving impressively late was Miss Afleet Alex, who picked up second and was gaining on the winner. Rock Hard Baby tired to 5th. Watch the Replay.

Yes She's Valid

The filly Yes It's Valid (Yes It's True - Valid Forbes by Valid Appeal) took most of the money at the windows, and she looked the part in the preliminaries. The boys just looked scared. Ok, maybe they didn't look scared, but they should have been. A number of these were reluctant to load (see, I told you they were afraid of the filly), including Billy's Punch (Saint Liam - Slewzig by Seattle Slew). But, it was Man From Mars (Came Home - On the Tree Top by Tasso) who required the most attention to get into the gate. Yes It's Valid took the lead from the break. Mickejoe (Bernstein - Harmattan by Thunder Gulch) stayed with her for awhile, but Yes It's Valid pulled away in the stretch. The final margin was 5 lengths. Value Your Angel (Value Plus - Our Guardian Angel by Exploit) rallied late to pick up the place position. Billy's Punch raced greenly early, and ended up beating a couple, finishing 8th. Congar (Congaree - Spankstress by Crafty Prospector) and Right to Burn (Bernstein - Right This Way by West by West) were scratches. Watch the Replay.
